Dermaplaning - The Facts, Fluffy Bits & Facials

What is dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a gentle but effective exfoliation treatment, where a blade is moved over the skin to remove fuzzy peach hair and dead skin cells. The results are a beautifully smooth face that glows!

Its a treatment the celebrities have been having before any big red carpet event and makeup artists love it. Dermaplaning has been popular in America for years and only recently taken off in the UK.

Everyones main concern is that you will end up with thick, dark facial hair that matches your mans! The truth is the answer is NO! The treatment does not make you a hairy beast. The hair on the face is a type of hair called vellus hair also known as peach hair. Vellus hair never changes, it grows back slowly and exactly the same as it was previous to the treatment. Although I must warn you this treatment is addictive and you soon get used to having the smoothest face you have ever felt. Your make up goes onto the skin better and has a flawless appearance to it. Even when you take your make up off your skin is glowing.

Dermaplaning is not just a treatment in itself, you can use it as a preparation process to aid the effectiveness of skin peels, serums, and other types of results driven facials.

When clients are laid on my couch, I assess their skin. Antiaging clients have an option to add on peptide serums and masks to really plump up the skin, this takes advantage of the fresh newly derma planed skin. Any product I apply on my clients after dermaplaning will absorb into the skin so much better, therefore the product will work better in the deeper layers of the skin.

Clients with skin that is prone to breakouts can also add on a calming and sterilising mask, skin peels and the LED light therapy. Whichever you choose your skin will look and feel like it never has before, you will love your skin again! Theres no better feeling than being happy in your own skin.

p.s Always, always wear sunscreen!
